Uninstalling Software

If you've decided that you no longer need a particular program, you should remove it from the hard disk to make room for the programs you do use. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button and select Settings. Then select Control Panel from the shortcut menu that appears.

  2. Click (or double-click) the Add/Remove Programs icon. The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 15.1.

  3. Select the program you want to delete and click Add/Remove.

  4. You may be prompted to insert the installation disk or CD-ROM for the program you're removing. Do so and then click OK.

  5. Your application's uninstall program starts. Follow the onscreen prompts to remove the program from your hard disk.
