Copying a Disk

You can make an exact copy of a disk whenever you need to. Use the copy for everyday tasks, and keep the original in a safe place. This can help ensure that your data won't get lost if some of your disks become damaged.

To make a copy of a disk, you'll need another disk of the exact same size and capacity. You can't make a copy of one size of disk onto a disk of another size or capacity. Usually, you use only a single disk drive to copy disks, swapping disks halfway through the process, although you can use two different drives, provided that they're the same type.
