Understanding Web Style Versus Classic Style

If you use the Active Desktop, you might be interested in using the Web Style option within My Computer and Explorer. With Web Style, the purpose of clicking and double-clicking is changed. Instead of clicking to select a file, you simply point to it. And instead of double-clicking to open a file, you click it. This change affects not just Explorer, but My Computer and the Desktop as well.

In addition, if you change to Web Style and then use My Computer, each folder you open is displayed in the same window instead of separate windows. If you want to use Web Style's single-click method for selecting and opening folders and files, but want to retain the use of multiple windows in My Computer, then use the Custom option, as explained in the tip later in this lesson.
