Adding a Screen Saver

A screen saver prevents a display from becoming static for a long period of time, which might cause a permanent imprint (or burn-in) of the screen on your monitor.

Tip

Newer monitors have a feature that allows them to automatically turn themselves off after so many minutes of inactivity. If you have such a monitor, a screen saver is not needed—although you can still use one.
