Changing the Sounds for System Events

You can replace the sounds that are played for system events (such as displaying a program error and exiting Windows) with ones you create or download from the Internet. You can also replace the default Windows sounds with another sound scheme, such as Jungle. Here's how:

  1. Click the Start button and select Settings. Then select Control Panel from the cascading menu that appears.

  2. Click or double-click the Sounds icon. The Sounds Properties dialog box, shown in Figure 9.2, appears.Select a group of sounds from the Schemes list if you likeSelect a sound for the eventSelect an eventClick to test sound

  3. From the Events list, select the event whose sound you want to change.
