Troubleshooting the Registry

The Registry is obviously a crucial component, and you should take no chances with it. Export backup copies of the full Registry regularly, especially if you'll be making significant changes to the Registry's settings, and store a backup copy on a floppy disk in case your hard disk goes up in flames.

If the Registry itself gets corrupted, however, you might not be able to start Windows 98. This section looks at a few Registry-related problems that can occur and shows you how to fix them.
