About the Creative Team

David Pogue (co-editor) is the weekly computer columnist for the New York Times, technology correspondent for "CBS News Sunday Morning," and the creator of the Missing Manual series. He's the author or co-author of 35 books, including 13 in this series and 6 in the "For Dummies" line (including Macs, Magic, Opera, and Classical Music). In his other life, David is a former Broadway show conductor, a magician, and a pianist. News and photos await at www.davidpogue.com.

Adam Goldstein (co-editor) is the 16-year-old founder of GoldfishSoft, a software company specializing in cool programs for Mac OS X. He has worked on several titles in the Missing Manual series, including Mac OS X (as technical editor) and AppleScript (as author). In his spare time, he grudgingly attends high school. Email: mail@goldfishsoft.com. Web: www.goldfishsoft.com.

Kirk McElhearn (contributor, Chapters 15 and 16) has written and co-written more than a half-dozen books on the Macintosh, covering both software and hardware. As a journalist, he has written articles for a variety of publications, including Macworld magazine and TidBITS. A native New Yorker, he has lived in France for almost two decades, and currently lives in Guillestre, a village in the French Alps.

Nan Barber (copy editor) co-authored Office X for the Macintosh: The Missing Manual and Office 2001 for Macintosh: The Missing Manual. As the principal copy editor for this series, she has edited the titles on iPhoto, Mac OS 9, AppleWorks 6, iMovie, Dreamweaver 4, and Windows XP. Email: nanbarber@mac.com.

John Cacciatore (copy editor) has worked as an event specialist and freelance writer for many a moon. Among his passions: Asian cuisine, Cheers reruns (starring Coach or Woody), and his 23-year-old Rawlings baseball glove that still picks 'em clean at short. Email: j_cacciatore@yahoo.com.

Marlowe Shaeffer (production editor) enjoys working at O'Reilly because of the excitement of finding out which animal will be on the cover of her next book. Email: marlowe@oreilly.com.
