Find out what version of Mac OS 9 I'm running?

In the Classic environment, use → Apple System Profiler → System Profile panel; look in the System overview section.


See whether Classic is running?

System Preferences → Classic → Start/Stop; look for a bolded message that says "Classic is not running" or "Classic is running on...(path to Mac OS 9's System Folder)"


Launch Classic?

System Preferences → Classic → Start/Stop → click on the Start button


Quit Classic?

System Preferences → Classic → Start/Stop → click on the Stop button


Restart Classic?

System Preferences → Classic → Start/Stop → click on the Restart button

System Preferences → Classic → Advanced → click on the Restart Classic button
