About the Author

David Pogue, weekly computer columnist for the New York Times and former Macworld columnist, is the creator of the Missing Manual series. He's the author or co-author of 20 computer, humor, and music books, including several in the Missing Manual series (Windows Me, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and iMovie 2); six books in the …for Dummies series (including Macs, Magic, Opera, and Classical Music); PalmPilot: The Ultimate Guide; and Piloting Palm, the inside story of Palm and Handspring.

In his other life, David is a former Broadway show conductor, a magician, and an incorrigible pianist. He and his wife Jennifer live in Connecticut with their young son and daughter, as copiously photographed at http://www.davidpogue.com.

He welcomes feedback about this book and others in the Missing Manual series by email: david@pogueman.com. (If you're seeking technical help, however, please refer to the help sources listed at the end of Chapter 5.)
