5.5. Simplify printer administration and provide load balancing

Windows 2000 provides a feature called printer pooling that lets you treat two identical local printers as a single printer for purposes of configuration and administration. Rather than configuring and managing the printers separately, you simply set up the pool and manage a single configuration that applies to all printers in the pool. In fact, you only deal with one printer driver instance. Instead of configuring the driver for a single port, however, you select multiple ports, one for each printer in the pool (see Figure 5-4).
