Receiving Attachments

If someone has sent a you a file, a paper-clip icon appears next to the message name in the Message list (refer to Figure 14.10). Outlook Express stores an attachment with its message in a single, specially encoded mail file. You can open an attachment from the mail file or save it separately as a normal file on your hard drive. (To send attachments, see the Tips in “Sending Email” earlier in this chapter.)

To open an attachment

  • In the Preview pane, click the paper-clip icon in the header; then choose the file name (Figure 14.13).
