Keyboard Focus

The keyboard focus refers to the area of the screen that will be affected if you press a key. The default (as defined in the VoiceOver Utility; see page 394) is that the keyboard focus and the VoiceOver cursor (opposite) match each other (track each other). That is, when the keyboard focus is on a particular item, that's where the cursor will be as well.

You might, instead, want the VoiceOver cursor to follow your mouse movements instead of the keyboard focus. You can move your mouse around and the VoiceOver cursor follows it, enlarging items as shown above. When you want to activate that item, press the appropriate key.
