What else you need

Two computers can be connected with one crossover Ethernet cable. If you have a number of machines in your office, you will need something called a switch or Ethernet hub that can connect all of your machines, including your printers. The switch/hub will have a number of Ethernet ports; you connect each Mac and printer to that box with straight (not crossover) Ethernet cables.

If you have several computers in your office, a broadband connection, and all your Macs can get on the Internet at the same time, you're probably using a router—you're already set up for networking.
