To search a PDF

1.
With the PDF document open in front of you, press Command F. Or go to the Edit menu, slide down to “Find,” then choose “Find….”

A search drawer appears on the side of the document window, as shown below. Type your search word or phrase into the search field.

As you type, Preview starts finding words that match. The more you type, the narrower the search becomes and the fewer words it finds.

In the list of results, double-click any one to go directly to that result. Preview will outline the word briefly, as shown below, and then the outline fades to a highlight so you can see the word.

5.
To find the next occurrence of the word or phrase, press Command G, or double-click on any other result in the list.
