Address Book is integrated with

  • Safari: Put your Address Book in the Bookmarks Bar and you have instant access to any web sites listed in the Address Book. In the Safari Preferences, in the Bookmarks pane, check the box to “Include Address Book.”

    You can also go to web sites directly from within the Address Book.

    The AutoFill feature in Safari uses the data you enter in your own card.

    Map: Click on an address and choose “Map Of.” Try it

  • iCal: iCal creates a Birthday calendar from your Address Book so everyone's birthday is automatically placed on its appropriate day; see page 218.

  • iPod: Transfer your entire contact list to your iPod using iSync (see pages 298299).

  • Mail: Send email to a selected contact with a contextual menu, or use the Action button. The photos you put in the Address Book will appear in other Mac users email messages when they send you mail.

    To automatically add someone's email address to your Address Book, select a message in Mail, then press Command Y.

  • iChat: iChat will pick up the data and picture you add here. And when a Buddy is online and available, his address card displays a green dot.

  • iSight: With an iSight camera connected (or any camera), you can add a photograph of someone you are chatting with through iChat; see page 105.

  • .Mac: Synchronize your other Macs and your .Mac account so you have your entire Address Book accessible on the web, anywhere in the world.

  • Spotlight: Send your Address Book search out to your entire computer through Spotlight. See pages 322323.
