To create a bookmark

1.
Play a DVD. Then . . .

2.
Either go to the Window menu and choose “Bookmarks.” A palette appears. When you get to the point in the DVD where you want to insert a bookmark, click the + sign at the bottom of the Bookmarks palette.

Or when you get to the point in the DVD where you want to insert a bookmark, press Command = (or go to the Controls menu and choose “New Bookmark…”).

3.
A sheet drops down where you can either leave the time code as shown, or you can rename the bookmark so you know exactly which one this is.

Once you have created bookmarks, you can go to the Go menu and choose to skip straight to any bookmark you made. These bookmarks are not stored with the DVD; that is, if you loan the DVD to anyone, it will not include your bookmarks. They are stored only on your Mac. If you make more than one bookmark, use the Bookmark palette to choose one of them to be the “default” bookmark.
