Create a Simple Workflow in the Finder

Here are the steps to create a simple workflow. This example is to rename a large group of files. Let's say you have a bunch of photos that you imported from your camera and they have all those awful names like DGP78XX3.JPG. All these photos are from your trip to Egypt. In this workflow, each photo will be labeled Egypt-01.jpg, each with a different and ascending number.

If you don't have photos like this that you want to rename, you can create a bunch really quickly so you can follow along in these steps: Find one photo. Select it (click once on it), then press Command D; hold the Command key down and tap the D key as many times as you want copies of photos. For instance, if you want five copies, press Command DDDDD.
