ABOUT TO EMAIL? WOULD YOU RATHER CHAT?

When you open a New Message window and type in the recipient's email address, if you've got iChat running, Mail instantly checks to see if this person is available for an iChat. (After all, who wants to wait for email, when you can instantly talk face-to-face?) If they're available, a little green button appears right before their name, letting you know they're online and ready to talk. Click on their name and an iChat window will appear, where you can invite them to chat with you (at which point, they'll politely decline, but hey—it was worth a try). Note: This same “green-button-for-chat” feature is activated in Address Book, so if you go searching there for an email address, you'll see if they're ready to chat.
