DISABLING SCREEN SAVER HOT CORNERS

Does your screen saver keep turning on when you rest your cursor in one of the corners of your screen? Well, this used to drive me crazy. (I say used to, because I used this tip to fix it.) What's happening is that one of your corners has been designated as a “hot corner” (at least as far as Mac OS X's Screen Saver is concerned), and whenever your cursor winds up there for more than a second or two, it starts Mac OS X's built-in Screen Saver. To make this “hot corner” stuff go away, go to the System Preferences in the Apple menu and click on the Desktop & Screen Saver icon. When its pane appears, click on the Screen Saver tab, then click on the Hot Corners button to bring up the Hot Corners panel. When it appears, you'll see four pop-up menus, each representing one corner of your screen. If one or more of these pop-up menus says Start Screen Saver, that indicates a hot corner. To turn off a hot corner, click on the pop-up menu and choose “ — ” to make that corner go “cold.” The full screen is now yours to enjoy uninterrupted.
