iMovie HD: CONTROLLING AUDIO FADE-INS/FADE-OUTS

In iMovie HD, if you want to fade in (or out) your background audio track, you've got pretty decent control over exactly when and how long it takes for that fade-in/out to happen. The first step is to press Command-Shift-L while the Timeline Viewer is visible to show the audio controls. When you do this, a line will appear in the center of your audio tracks. This line represents the volume of your audio track, so to create a fade-in, click once at the point where you want the audio to be at full volume (and a point will be added at that spot along with a tiny purple square at its left). Drag the little purple square down to where you want the fade-in to begin (usually at the beginning of your audio track). The length of time between the beginning of your audio track and the little yellow point is how long your fade-in will be. If you want a longer fade-in, drag the yellow point to the right.
