Uninstalling Windows XP

Uninstalling Windows XP

If you’re unhappy with Windows XP, you can trash it and roll back to your previous version of Windows—providing that it was Windows 98 or Me. Some restrictions apply. If you’re sure that you never want to roll back to Windows 98/Me, you can delete your old copy and reclaim the hundreds of megabytes that it occupies on your hard drive.

You can’t roll back if you upgraded from Windows 2000 or NT, converted from FAT to NTFS after upgrading, or repartitioned your drive since upgrading.
