Printing Photos

XP’s Photo Printing Wizard walks you through the printing process and lets you print multiple photos per page, saving you money on expensive photo-quality paper.

To print photos:

1.
Choose Start > My Pictures; then choose the subfolder (if any) containing your photos.

2.
Select one or more photos that you want to print.

3.
In the task pane on the left, click Print This Picture or Print the Selected Pictures, if you selected more than one (refer to Figure 9.10).

4.
On the Welcome page of the Photo Printing Wizard, click Next.

5.
On the Picture Selection page, check the box above each thumbnail you want to print; clear the others (Figure 9.14); then click Next.

Figure 9.14. This page shows you the selected photos or, if you made no selection, all the current folder’s photos.

6.
On the Printing Options page, choose a printer; then click Next.

If you’re using photo-quality paper, also click Printing Preferences to set paper tray, color, and resolution options.

7.
On the Layout Selection page, specify how you want the photos arranged on the page (Figure 9.15); then click Next.

Figure 9.15. The wizard rotates, sizes, and crops images to fit. To prevent unpleasant surprises, the layout preview shows you which parts of the images you’ll lose on paper.

8.
Click Finish.

The wizard sends your photos to the printer.
