Navigating the Web

You have three ways to move among Web pages:

  • Type a Web address (URL) (Figure 13.2)

    Figure 13.2. The Address bar displays the address (URL) of the current Web page. Type a new address to go to a different page.

  • Click a navigation button (Figure 13.3)

  • Click a link, or hyperlink (Figure 13.4)

    Figure 13.4. Links take you to a new Web page (or another place on the same page). Text links are typically underlined blue phrases. Pictures and buttons also can be links. Some links sprout a menu when you point to them. If links are hard to spot at first, watch your pointer; wherever it turns from an arrow into a finger-pointing hand, you’ve discovered a link.
