Centering Text

As explained on the opposite page, when you center a word or line, the Mac takes all those blank spaces into consideration, so any Spacebar spaces or any indents or any tabs you’ve inserted will be used to calculate the center of the line, making the line appear to be uncentered!

If you want to center a headline or a paragraph of text, do not use a centered tab to do so! Instead, find the button in the toolbar (shown on pages 206 and 207) to center the text. Centered tabs are only for centering columns of text.
