Connecting the Mouse

[If your mouse is already connected, skip this page!] The mouse plugs into a port (a socket). Most Macs (including all iMacs, G4s, Cubes, iBooks) have what are called “USB ports” into which you plug “USB devices,” including your mouse. You have two USB ports on the top sides of your keyboard; you can plug your mouse into either one. USB ports are rectangular, so of course the mouse cable has a rectangular connector on the other end of the cable. (If your mouse cable has a round connector, see the information below about ADB ports.)
