Chapter 3. The Mouse

The mouse, of course, is that handy little piece of hardware that controls the movement of the pointer on the screen. As you move the mouse across the desk, a pointer, sometimes called a cursor, moves across the screen in the same direction. In most Macintosh applications, you cannot fully utilize the program without the mouse. A few programs give you the option of doing absolutely everything from the keyboard if you choose; but who wants to learn 450 keyboard commands?

This short chapter helps you get familiar with the various ways of using and taking care of your mouse.
