Chapter 19. Restart, Shut Down, or Log Out > Lock People out of your Mac

Lock People out of your Mac

You can lock your Mac while you’re away from it. When you lock the computer, your screen saver instantly appears, and it won’t go away until you enter your login password.

Of course, you can set your screen saver so if it comes on, you need a password to make the screen saver go away, as descibed on page 332. But the advantage of locking your Mac with this technique is that the screen saver will only lock you out when you choose, not every time it comes on.
