8. Dock

A1: Hold down the Control key, click on the dividing line of the Dock, choose “Position on screen,” then choose Left, Right, or Bottom. Or go to the Dock preferences (see answer 9).
A2: Drag the item out of the Dock and drop it on the Desktop.
A3: Drag items anywhere else in the Dock (apps to the left, everything else to the right).
A4: The Finder window and the Trash basket.
A5: Web sites, folders, documents, applications, or any icon at all on your entire hard disk.
A6: It opens the folder in a window.
A7: It opens a menu from which you can select any item in the folder.
A8: Press on the dividing line and drag it larger or smaller.
A9:
  1. Control-click on the dividing line and choose “Dock Preferences....”

  2. Go to the Apple menu and choose “Dock...,” then choose “Dock Preferences....”

  3. Open the System Preferences, then click on the Dock icon.

A10: Go to the Dock preferences (see #9), and choose “Automatically hide and show the Dock,” or hold down the Control key, click on the dividing line of the Dock, and choose “Turn Hiding On.”
