USB Ports

The USB ports are on Macs built since late 1998. USB stands for Universal Serial Bus, which replaces both the Apple Desktop Bus and the serial ports, as described on page 677. With USB, input devices (like mice and keyboards) as well as scanners, printers, Zip drives, and other devices can all connect into the same ports.
