Quick Start

But for the person who wants to instantly create, save, print, and quit, the steps are quite easy, as long as you know what all the terms are, like “icon” and “Dock” and “double-click.”

  • Open your word processing program (or other program of your choice):

    If the application icon is in a window, double-click it.

    If the application icon is in the Dock, single-click it.

  • Save the new document:

    From the File menu, choose “Save As....”

    Name the file and click “Save.”

  • Create something: start typing, drawing, painting, or whatever.

    Save regularly as you work (from the File menu, choose “Save”).

  • Print the document:

    From the File menu, choose “Print....”

    Click the “Print” button.

  • Quit the application:

    From the File menu, choose “Quit.”
