Java Plugin Settings

Java Plugin Settings is an application that enables you to set options for the way the Java applet viewer works in the Internet Explorer Web browser.

To set Java plugin options

1.
Open the Java Plugin Settings icon in the Java folder (Figure 2) inside the Utilities folder to display the Java(TM) Plug-in Control Panel window.

Click the Basic tab (Figure 95) and set options as desired:

  • Enable Java Plug-In turns on the Java applet viewing capabilities of Internet Explorer.

  • Show Java Console displays the Java console window (Figure 96) when a page containing an applet loads in the Web browser.

  • Recycle Classloader saves applets in memory so they load faster when you return to the Web pages on which they reside.

  • Show Exception Dialog Box displays a dialog when an applet encounters an exception.

To clear the JAR cache, click the Cache tab (Figure 97) and then click the Clear JAR Cache button. Click OK in the dialog that appears.

To view certificates, click the Certificates tab. If any certificates are “trusted” by Java Plug-in, they will be listed in the window (Figure 98).

Click Apply to apply any changes to the settings.

6.
Choose Java Plugin Settings > Quit Java Plugin Settings or press to quit.
