Chapter 8. Fonts > The Fonts Panel

The Fonts Panel

The Fonts panel offers a standard interface for formatting font characters in a document. It also offers access to additional options for organizing and obtaining fonts.

Tips

  • This part of the chapter looks at the Fonts panel as it appears in TextEdit, the text editor that comes with Mac OS X. You can find TextEdit in the Applications folder on the Mac OS X startup disk. I discuss Text Edit in detail in Mac OS X 10.2 Visual QuickStart Guide.

  • The Fonts panel is only available in Cocoa applications; not Carbon applications. To lean more about Carbon and Cocoa, consult Chapter 1.
