Chapter 8. Fonts > Using the Character Palette

Using the Character Palette

Mac OS X 10.2 includes a new feature called the Character Palette. This feature can be enabled from within the International preferences pane and accessed from the menu bar. It enables you to type any character in any language for which a font is installed in your computer, including Asian and eastern European languages.

Tips

  • Although you can enter foreign language characters into documents on your Macintosh, those characters may not appear properly when your documents are viewed on other computers.

  • I tell you more about the International preferences pane in Chapter 7.
