Saving Scripts

Script Editor offers three formats for saving scripts:

  • Text saves the script as plain text that can be opened and read by any text editor or word processor.

  • Compiled script checks the script for syntax errors, then saves it as a Script Editor document. When you double-click a compiled script, it opens in Script Editor so you can edit or run it.

  • Application checks the script for syntax errors, then saves it as an application. When you double-click a script saved as an application, the script runs.
