Pictures

The Mac is a great machine for digital photography, and many people buy a Mac for that specific reason. If you already have some digital photographs on your PC, however, here’s how Apple says you should move them.

On the PC:

1.
Navigate to My Documents > My Pictures (or whatever folder you use to store your digital photos), select that folder, and then choose Edit > Copy.

2.
Open the Pictures folder in your Switch CD folder set, and select Edit > Paste.

Repeat these steps for any other folders that contain digital photos you’d like to transfer, and don’t forget to look at your Desktop for pictures.

On the Mac:

1.
Insert the Switch CD in your Mac’s optical drive, and open it when it mounts on the Desktop.

2.
Launch iPhoto by clicking its icon in the Dock or by navigating to your Applications folder and double-clicking its icon there.

(Get to the Applications folder by pressing Command-Shift-A or by selecting Go > Applications in the Finder.)

3.
Drag the Pictures folder from the Switch CD to the iPhoto window.

iPhoto dutifully copies your photos from the CD into its library, where you can work with them.
