Part 2: Working with Windows XP > Working with Folders

Chapter 34. Working with Folders

In the last two chapters, you learned all about working with files. Soon you'll have so many, you'll wish you had a place to put them. That's where folders come in.

Remember, in XP, all your files are hidden by default until you click Show the contents of this folder. When you reveal the contents of your C drive you'll see a number of folders, including one or more with whatever user names you created when you set up Windows XP. That's where Windows, by default, stores your documents. Shared Documents is where you can store documents that can be accessed by anyone using your computer. The folder cannot be made private. The rest of the folders belong to individual users.
