Printing a File

The Print command is almost always in the File menu, and the keyboard shortcut is usually Ctrl+P. Many programs also provide a print option on the toolbar—just press the icon that looks like a printer.

Giving the Print command will bring up a Print dialog box, from which you can select options such as print quality and the range of pages you want to print. There is often a Properties button which gives you even more options such as quality (draft, normal, or “best” mode), whether or not to use color and so on, depending on the options supported by your printer. The printing dialog box is controlled, to a certain extent, by the driver software that came with your printer. (For more on printers, see Chapter 19.)
