The Bottom Line

Now that you've heard me describe all the options, you've probably guessed my recommendation: Most users should get a good color inkjet printer.

The main things to consider when buying your printer are speed, resolution (the higher the better), and the cost per page for both color and black-and-white printing (that includes the cost of the ink cartridges and the cost for any special paper you might need). Look for a model that can handle at least 100 sheets of paper at a time, and make sure it's easy to insert envelopes and other special kinds of paper.
