Photo Paper

Ever wonder why color inkjet printers are so cheap? The reason is that the companies that make them also sell ink and paper. If you ask Epson, Hewlett-Packard, Canon, or Lexmark, they'll tell you that their paper—the paper made especially for their printers—is far superior to any other paper.

That's nonsense. Do you think Hewlett-Packard actually makes paper? Of course not. They buy it from a major paper manufacturer, as do all of the other printer companies. (I wouldn't be surprised if they all bought their paper from the same company.) I've used Canon paper on HP printers and vice versa and have never had any problems. In fact, there are lots of companies that make photo paper, so shop around. That's not to say that there aren't qualitative differences. I recommend you start off by purchasing relatively small packs from various companies and seeing which works best for you.
