USB Port

All PCs built in the last few years also come with a USB (universal serial bus) port. A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 devices, because you can “daisy chain” USB devices by plugging one device into another. You can also buy a USB hub to add more ports, so you never have to worry about running out. USB can be used for mice, printers, keyboards, and lots of other devices and is in the process of replacing the serial and parallel ports (see below). USB might just eliminate the need to take a computer apart to add components. All versions of Windows since Windows 98 fully support USB. So does the Macintosh, which is a good thing because companies can now make devices that connect to both PCs and Macs, though they need different driver software.
