Chapter 11. Speech Features > Speech Recognition

Speech Recognition

The Mac OS X speech recognition feature enables you to issue verbal commands to your computer. Although there are a number of predefined commands that you can use, you can also create your own commands.

Tips

  • Speech recognition requires a microphone (either built-in or plug-in) to work.

  • The speech recognition feature works best in a relatively quiet work environment.
