What Is the Same About AppleScript in Mac OS X

The AppleScript engineering team at Apple has done an amazing job of making AppleScript consistent between Mac OS X and earlier versions of the Mac OS. Generally, any scripts you create should operate the same way whether you run them in Mac OS X 10.1, in Mac OS 9.2.1, or in the Classic environment of Mac OS X.

Apple has done their best to synchronize AppleScript in both Mac OS X 10.1 and Mac OS 9.2.1. This is not to say that the language in both operating systems is identical; many differences exist between the AppleScript language in Mac OS X 10.1 and Mac OS 9.2.1. Here, in detail, are some of the differences:
