Selecting Text Using the Mouse

Knowing how to select text is important because you must always select text before you can format, copy, move, or delete it.

To select text with the mouse:

1.
Position the pointer at one end of the text you want to select.

2.
Hold down the mouse button and drag to the other end of the text you want to select (Figure 2.3).

To select text on multiple lines, hold down the mouse button and drag down through the document to highlight multiple lines.

3.
Release the mouse button.
