Inserting Hyperlinks

By inserting hyperlinks in a document, you can create hotspots in the text that people can click to go to a file, a location in a file, or a page on the Web.

To add a hyperlink:

1.
Select the text you want to hyperlink (Figure 9.1).

From the Insert menu, choose Hyperlink.

Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar (Figure 9.2).

In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, type the Web page ad res (URL) of the destination to which you want to link in the Address box (Figure 9.3).

or

Select from recent files, browsed pages, or links.

or

Click the Browse for File button to browse for a file in the Link to File dialog box for the file to which you want to link.

or

Click the Browse the Web button to use your Web browser to navigate to the Web page you want in the browser window. (You must be con ected to the Web.)

4.
Click OK.

The text is now underlined and in a different color (Figure 9.4).
