Creating a PivotTable Report

PivotTable and PivotChart reports can help you look at data in different ways. Once the reports are created, you can swap rows with columns for different views.

To create a PivotTable report:

1.
Click in the selected data area.

2.
From the Data menu, choose PivotTable and PivotChart Report to start the PivotTable and PivotChart Wizard.

Select the PivotTable report, specify the data source, and indicate whether you want the report to be placed on a new worksheet or an existing one (Figure 14.34).

4.
Position the table items to create the view you want (Figure 14.35).

The row and columns items are listed below the button area on the PivotTable toolbar.

5.
Click the Format Report button on the PivotTable toolbar (Figure 14.36).

Choose a format from the AutoFormat dialog box (Figure 14.37).

7.
Click OK.
