Enlarging Columns and Rows

Although Excel makes limited automatic adjustments in row height to accommodate larger font sizes, you can easily change the width of a column or the height of a row or set the column or row to change automatically.

To change the width of a column:

1.
Position the mouse pointer on the right edge of the gray column heading button for the column you want to widen (Figure 12.1).

When the mouse pointer changes to a double arrow, drag right or left (Figure 12.2).

While you’re dragging, you’ll see the new width of the column in a yellow ToolTip, measured in pixels.
