Protecting a Worksheet

You can allow others to work on portions of your workbook or all of your workbook, but it’s a good idea to set up cell formatting options in advance so that they don’t make changes inadvertently.

To lock cells from editing by others:

1.
Select the cells that will be locked and choose Cells from the Format menu or right-click and choose Format Cells from the shortcut menu.

2.
On the Protection tab in the Format Cells dialog box, select the Locked check box (Figure 16.33).

Click OK.
