Chapter 38. Reading Messages > Collecting Messages

Collecting Messages

You can set Outlook to automatically check for messages at intervals, or you can have Outlook check for messages whenever you want.

To check for messages:

In the Inbox window or the Outlook Today window, click the Send/Receive button on the Standard toolbar (Figure 38.2).

If your connection is not automatic, click Connect in the Dial-up Connection dialog box (Figure 38.3).

Outlook reports its progress in the lower right corner of the window (Figure 38.4).

When messages arrive, Outlook asks whether you want to start reading them. Click Yes in the Microsoft Outlook dialog box to starting reading messages, or click No to read them later (Figure 38.5).
