Chapter 5. Formatting Text

In a Word document, you can change the appearance of both the text characters and the paragraphs. Changing the look of characters is font formatting. Figure 5.1 shows several examples. Changing the appearance of paragraphs, on the other hand, is paragraph formatting. Figure 5.2 shows a variety of paragraph formats. The most common paragraph formatting changes are indenting, double spacing, centering, justifying, numbering, and adding bullets to paragraphs.
