Going Online with Outlook

Depending on your setup, Outlook will either connect to the Internet automatically to collect your messages or you will have to log on manually.

To set Outlook to automatically go online:

1.
From the Tools menu, choose Options.

2.
On the Mail Setup tab of the Options dialog box, select the Automaticaly dial during a background Send/Receive check box to have Outlook con ect automatically. (Figure 37.7)

Select the Hang up when finished with a manual Send/Receive check box to have Outlook disconnect automatically.

Click Send/Receive for further options.

5.
In the Send/Receive Groups dialog box, select the two Schedule an automatic send/receive every x minutes check boxes and specify an interval in minutes between checks. (Figure 37.8).

Click Close.

7.
Click OK.
